Did you know that Miami Beach reports thunderstorms about eighty days each year on average? These storms can be strong and come with frequent lightning and very heavy rain. SERVPRO® of Miami Beach responds to storm damage emergencies throughout the year and offer these thunderstorm safety tips from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA):
- If the sky looks threatening or if you hear thunder, get inside a safe place immediately
- Once inside, avoid contact with corded phones, electrical equipment, plumbing, and windows and doors
- Wait thirty minutes after the last lightning or thunder before going back outside
- Remember, it is your behavior when thunderstorms are in the area that determines your personal risk of being struck by lightning. When thunder roars, go indoors!

- Call 911 and monitor the victim
